Winners of the 2015 Talent Unleashed Award for Best Start Up Community or Social Impact, Australian Disability services directory Clickability empowers those with a disability to become literate consumers that rate and review service providers.
As trained social workers co-founders Aviva Beecher and Jenna Moffat both discovered they had difficulty referring their clients to service providers within the sector following the launch of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) which gave people for the first time choice and control over which service provider they used.
“There’s some really great things about the NDIS, including the choice and control piece of it, but the big piece that was missing for Jenna and I was the informed choice,” said Beecher when she spoke to Start-up Daily.

The Clickability platform officially started to trade this year – a huge milestone, especially given the industry sector and the copious amount of red tape that comes with it. There was also a cultural shift in educating and empowering the community to give feedback and advocate for themselves.
The idea however was enough to impress the judges at last year’s Talent Unleashed Awards, with the duo scoring a category win.
“The process was amazing. I think it really honed what’s important here and what’s important for the business as opposed to the impact and what is it that we need to present.” Said Beecher.
