Before Talent Unleashed Awards judge Jane Tewson boarded a plane for Necker Island with our Founder and Managing Director Richard Earl to take part in a workshop aimed at addressing social issues through storytelling and using business for good, we quickly interviewed her to get some wise words for our 2014 Unleashed entrants.
1. What do you think are the most important qualities in a great entrepreneur?
Without a doubt in my mind they are: Passion, Vision, Determination, Desire to break all the rules… and of course Dreaming big!
2. What’s the best piece of advice you were given and by whom?
My mum who advised me to trust my instinct.
3. Tell us about your big break?
As much as a big break as a personal realisation which was realising that being dyslexic could be a gift and with that came celebrating that I thought differently.
4. What was your biggest failure?
Ha Ha – that would have to be all exams.
5. What piece of advice would you give someone in overcoming obstacles?
Ask questions, share your challenges, keep positive and know that the impossible can be possible.
