How it works

How the awards process works

To keep things fresh and exciting this year there have been some enhancements to the Talent Unleashed Awards format. New categories, new regions and enhancements to the judging process means a better chance of entrants winning this year’s prize.

The new awards format guarantees grand prize winners from each of our three major awards regions –
APAC, USA and EMEA.

Click on your region below to find out more about how it works for you:

  • USA

We are excited to welcome entrants into the Talent Unleashed Awards for the first time in 2017.

To kick things off we have started this region with a single awards category:

Entrants from the USA in this category will be judged by our global judging panel. From the entries received our judges will select three USA regional winners who will be announced online.

The three USA regional winners will then be flown to the Talent Unleashed Awards Event in Melbourne, Australia, where their founder will get the opportunity to pitch live to the judging panel.

One Global Grand Prize Winner will be chosen by our judges, who will get to attend the VIP prize trip to Silicon Valley and get the chance to meet Steve Wozniak.

  • APAC

If you are in the APAC region you have the opportunity to enter all five Talent Unleashed Awards Categories.

Entrants from APAC will be judged by our APAC regional judging panel and three finalists in each category will be announced online.

    Here’s where things get interesting…

Best Idea – ‘One to Watch’ APAC Finalists
Finalists in the Best Idea – ‘One to Watch’ category will be flown to the Talent Unleashed Awards Event in Melbourne, Australia, where their founder will get the opportunity to pitch live to our judging panel. Judging Panellists will decide the winner of this category live at the event and the winner will receive the global grand prize.

    All other Categories APAC Finalists
Finalists in all other categories will be flown to the Talent Unleashed Awards Event in Melbourne, Australia, where the APAC regional winners in each category will be announced live on the night.

Prior to the event, our global judging panel will have reviewed all of the regional winner’s entries and decided on two global winners from the region, each of whom will receive the global grand prize.

To keep things fair, one global winner will be selected from the Startup Categories and the other from the Leadership Categories.

So, in total, 3 x Global Grand Prize Winners will be announced from the APAC region, with a guaranteed a spot on our exclusive winner’s trip in 2018!
