Neal Cross Singapore-headquartered DBS Bank Chief Innovation Officer was named the Most Disruptive CIO at last year’s Talent Unleashed Awards.
His achievements throughout his time at DBS were recognised by our panel of acclaimed regional and global judges – amongst them Steve Wozniak.

Cross spoke with Startup Daily, explaining how winning a Talent Unleashed Award gave him a renewed sense of the importance of innovation. He shared his intentions for when he started at DBS as a CIO, explaining how he wanted to embrace a culture of innovation within the organisation and make his team aware of the responsibility they had to innovate.
“What drives our innovation is about empowering our people to think sharper, be more analytical, and problem-solve, and all of that is directed at helping our customers to live more,”
With this he wanted to break away from traditional thinking and work with others that had different views and ideas. Cross was well deserving of the title Most Disruptive CIO and comments “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t humbled from being praised by some of the smartest individuals on this planet.”
Cross also mentions that winning the award gave him a renewed sense of how critical innovation is in driving change in organisations.
“It’s inspiring to see so many others approaching innovation in many different ways and there are always lessons that can be learned from them”.
