It is pretty clear as to why last year startup CareMonkey won its category as well as the overall Grand Prize in the 2015 Talent Unleashed Awards.
CareMonkey is a health and safety system designed for use by any organisation with a duty of care (e.g. schools, sporting clubs, businesses), it automates the collection of medical and emergency contact information from all the participants in a location or an activity and makes it available to the right people via their mobile devices.
For founder Troy Westley, it was his son’s own asthma treatment plan that inspired the idea to start CareMonkey and deliver this powerful and lifesaving data to those in the community who need to be able to access it in times of emergency.

Following his win at the Talent Unleashed Awards, CareMonkey’s business growth has accelerated rapidly with the business growing from 8 to 20 people and expanding into new markets such as the UK and the USA.
CareMonkey has also gone onto win the global SLUSH pitching event in Helsinki against 1,000 other startups. The prize was 650,000 euros which they knocked back!
Just last month, Troy enjoyed the 2015 Unleashed Awards Prize which was the trip of a lifetime to Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island. Read More about the Necker Island experience here.
